Bridgepoint Education Executive Joins Hospital Board

San Diego, CA – September 19, 2012 – Andrew S. Clark, Bridgepoint Education Founder, Chief Executive Officer and President, was recently appointed to a three-year term on the board of Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego.

“As a lifelong advocate for learning, I am excited to help guide an institution that not only provides excellent care for our region’s children and families, but also is seeking cures to childhood diseases and training the next generation of physicians,” Clark said. “I am looking forward to sharing the story of Rady Children’s in our community, and building even more support for this much loved San Diego treasure.”

Clark began his higher education career in 1995 with the University of Phoenix, a division of Apollo Group. From 1996 to 1999, he served as the youngest Vice President and Campus Director. From 1999 to 2001, Clark was responsible for opening the Midwest and Northeast regions and creating nine campuses in seven states. Clark also served as Chief Operating Officer of American Continental University, a division of Career Education Corporation (CEC) and Vice President Operations of the University Division of CEC.

Clark also serves in leadership positions in numerous local businesses including: The San Diego Symphony, The San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation and Francis Parker School. In addition, Clark has supported the following organizations: American Red Cross, Big Brother/Big Sisters of San Diego County, Boys and Girls Club, Freedom Station, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Promises2Kids.

Clark earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a B.A. in Communication Art from Pacific Lutheran University.
