CBS Radio Raises the Highest Amount of Money for Rady Children’s in Five Years During Radiothon

San Diego – Dec. 17, 2014 – Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego and San Diego’s KyXy Radio 96.5 just completed their 5th Annual Holiday of Miracles Radiothon, which helped raise the highest amount of money – $284,500.  For two days, KyXy radio personalities broadcasted live from Rady Children’s and shared special stories, interviewed 28 patients and families live on the radio and provided the community with important and valuable information about Rady Children’s.

“KyXy Radio has been a valued supporter and advocate for Rady Children’s over the years, that we are excited to continue this long lasting partnership with one of San Diego’s best radio stations,” said Carol Damon-Scherer, Vice President of Development for Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation.  “The radiothon allows us to share patient stories of hope and healing while giving the community the opportunity to show their support for the region’s only children’s hospital.”

CBS Radio, through the radiothon, has raised $1.3 million since 2009.  Last year’s radiothon brought in more than $250,000 for the Hospital.

The 2014 Holiday of Miracles Radiothon was powered by Wells Fargo and the phone bank was sponsored by Illumina, Inc.  Other local sponsors included: Cox Communications, Honda Dealers of San Diego County, Mission Federal Credit Union, The UPS Store, Harrah’s Resort Southern California, Hazard Center, GEICO and Phil’s BBQ.
