Campaign and Radiothon Sponsored by CBS Radio, KyXy 96.5
(December 13, 2016) – Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego and CBS Radio, KyXy 96.5 will host the 7th Annual Holiday of Miracles of Radiothon on December 14 and 15 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. KyXy radio personalities will broadcast live from Rady Children’s and will feature patient stories through live interviews.
“We are so pleased to be part of this annual event that gives a voice to our patients’ incredible stories,” said Carol Damon-Scherer, Vice President of Development for Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation. “It provides an opportunity for the community to learn how we care for each patient that walks through our doors. Listeners will have the chance to support our efforts to provide the best care and treatment to our region’s children.”
Listeners will hear inspiring stories from patients like Giancarlo who overcame flesh-eating bacteria and Kasey who beat a rare cancer. Twenty-six patients in all will tell their stories throughout the two-day event.
The radiothon is part of the Annual Holiday of Miracles Campaign which runs from November 20 to December 23. During the campaign, local businesses raise money to fund vital programs at Rady Children’s. In 2015, the Holiday of Miracles Campaign and Radiothon raised more than $255,000 for Rady Children’s.
The 2016 Holiday of Miracles Campaign and Radiothon are presented by San Diego Honda Dealers, Applebee’s, The UPS Store, Point Loma Credit Union, Kiwanis, San Diego Eye and Laser Center, Harrah’s Resort Southern California, Hazard Center and the California Ballet Company. Other sponsors include Broken Yolk Café, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Papa John’s Pizza, Panda Express, Chipotle, Nicolosi’s, Nature’s Bakery and Yogurtland.
