Dr. Suttner has been a full-time neonatologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego since 1998.

In addition to her clinical duties, she is director of the San Diego Regional ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) Program, director of the Neonatal Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Rady Children's, and a clinical professor at UC San Diego.

Under her direction, the ECMO program has been honored with the International ELSO (Extracorporeal Life Support Organization) Award of Excellence, now for a second term.

Dr. Suttner received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and completed her internship, residency and neonatal fellowship at Stanford University.

She is a member of several Hospital committees and has been an active participant in the research community, serving as a principal investigator on several multicenter clinical trials.
