Dr. Sheila Fallon Friedlander is director of the Dermatology Fellowship Training Program at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and a professor of pediatrics and dermatology at UC San Diego.

Dr. Friedlander trained at the University of Chicago and UC Los Angeles Medical Center and is board certified in pediatrics and dermatology, with sub-specialty certification in pediatric dermatology. She is a member of the Academy of Clinician Scholars at UC San Diego, a past president of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and an elected member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Board of Directors.

Her research interests include the etiology of infantile vascular lesions, cutaneous infectious diseases, and manpower supply and training challenges in pediatric dermatology. She has authored more than 100 scholarly texts. Dr. Friedlander has earned honors including the UC San Diego Pediatric and Dermatology faculty teaching awards, election to the American Dermatology Association, the Upjohn/UC Los Angeles Outstanding Resident Research Award, the AAD Gold Triangle Award and the Children's Hospital Physician's Recognition Award. She is listed in Best Doctors, Top Doctors, Who's Who in America and 2000 Notable American Women.
