Center For Healthier Communities For Children
Rady Children's Center for Healthier Communities for Children was established in 1996 to be the hub for the Hospital’s community health improvement strategies; a happy result is a reduction in the number of children suffering from preventable illnesses and injuries. In the ensuing years, the Center has gained recognition for facilitating practical and successful community health outcomes and mobilizing individuals, organizations and systems to combine forces to create healthier communities for children.
The Center is focused on strategies that:
- Identify and analyze critical child health issues
- Convene and stimulate organizations and individuals to act to improve child health
- Fund and/or launch selected, strategically focused interventions where we have unique expertise, experience or where it fits in with Rady Children’s major clinical programs
- Advocate for increased private and public resources
- Link providers, in and out of the Hospital, with specific populations and resources to improve preventive and community health
