Children's Hospital Emergency Transport (CHET)

The Rady Children’s Hospital Emergency Transport (CHET) Pediatric Team, provides 24-hour emergency pediatric critical care transport to more than 1,000 patients per year, including seriously ill and injured children throughout Southern California. We provide immediate response to hospitals, clinics and physician offices in San Diego, Imperial and Riverside Counties.

CHET's Advanced Life Support (ALS) team consists of an advanced transport-trained PICU R.N. and PICU Respiratory Therapist. This team can be mobilized within minutes to respond by ambulance, helicopter or airplane. A Pediatric ICU Physician or Nurse Practitioner is added to the team if the patient’s condition warrants.

Our CHET team is equipped with self-contained medical equipment to provide expert pediatric critical care to our patients.

The extensive training and experience in PICU care and the immediate response of our CHET team enhance the health and well-being of the children in our community and provide support to healthcare providers.
