The Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatology at Rady Children's is dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents with skin problems of all types. Staff members have advanced training in the diagnosis and management of common and uncommon skin conditions. They also participate in research and education on a variety of dermatologic conditions. Their areas of expertise include:

• Acne
• Eczema and other forms of dermatitis
• Warts, molluscum contagiosum, and other viral and bacterial skin infections
• Birthmarks and acquired growths, including moles, hemangiomas, port wine stains and other vascular malformations
• Fungal infections of the scalp, nails and skin
• Inflammatory skin disorders, including psoriasis vitiligo and alopecia (hair loss)
• Skin cancer prevention
• Neonatal dermatology
• Anesthesia and pain relief for surgical procedures
• Rare genetic skin manifestations

Rady Children’s has recognized expertise in laser and dermatologic surgery for infants, children and adolescents. Surgical services are performed in-office or in Rady Children’s Day Surgery Center. Therapies utilized include topical and systemic drugs, cryosurgery, phototherapy, laser therapy, and surgery.
