Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition
The Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Department at Rady Children's specializes in diseases affecting the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, colon and other digestive organs in children. To meet the unique needs of children, the Department offers:
- Board-certified pediatric gastroenterologists, nurse practitioners and a physician assistant with expertise in all diseases of the digestive tract.
- State-of-the-art endoscopy services for diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal diseases in children.
- Functional motility studies of the esophagus and rectum.
- Onsite capabilities for barium X-rays of the esophagus, stomach and intestines.
- Nutrition and feeding evaluations.
- Evaluation and care for end-stage liver disease patients in conjunction with our liver transplant program.
