The Division of Urology of Rady Children’s Specialists of San Diego specializes in diagnosing and treating both routine and rare urinary and genital disorders in infants, children and adolescents.

Our comprehensive Urology Clinic, held daily, is staffed by highly experienced, board-certified pediatric urologists, all of whom are either board-eligible or have a certificate of added qualification in pediatric urology.

For the third consecutive year (2009, 2010, 2011), U.S. News & World Report ranks our Urology program among the nation's best in its "Best Children's Hospitals" edition.

Along with treating common genitourinary conditions, we have a Continence Clinic that treats voiding dysfunction -- such as daytime and nighttime wetting -- using our 2-B Dry program. For surgical conditions, we use the most advanced approaches and minimally invasive techniques whenever possible.

To further serve the needs of our patients, we collaborate with other Rady Children’s specialties in multidisciplinary clinics, including a urinary stone diseases clinic with our Nephrology Division, a sexual differentiation clinic with our endocrinologists and psychologists, and a spinal defects clinic with our neurosurgeons, orthopedists and physiatrists.

Division Achievements:

• Consistently ranked as a top pediatric urology program by U.S. News & World Report.
• One of the first on the West Coast to perform laparoendoscopic single-site surgery for bilateral nephrectomies, a minimally invasive procedure that has enabled chronic kidney disease patients to recover faster and be more medically stable for a transplant.
