Research
Research is a vital part of Rady Children’s commitment to Discovery. Through research, teaching and innovation, Rady Children's can contribute to the discovery of cures and treatments for childhood disease and injury, making a difference in our region, across the country and around the world.
Rady Children’s Research Center
The Research Center at Rady Children’s was formed in 1982 to administer federal funding for research in children’s health. Over the years, Rady Children’s has become a clinical research leader with the establishment of recognized national and international research laboratories.
Our Research Center includes the Projects Office, the Institutional Review Board, the Office of Grants and Contracts, and the Center for Pediatric Clinical Research. The Center for Pediatric Clinical Research oversees and conducts more than 300 research studies each year.
The investigators at Rady Children’s come from a variety of backgrounds and include researchers from Rady Children's Specialists of San Diego, a Medical Foundation, the University of California, San Diego and Children’s Primary Care Medical Group. Research occurs in all specialties, such as cardiology, orthopedics, dermatology and infectious diseases, as well as within specialized research organizations on campus, including the Autism Discovery Institute, the Child and Adolescent Services Research Center, and the Blair L. Sadler Center for Quality.
