Table Notes:
- AGE LIMIT: Don't use under 4 years of age.
- Reason 1: Not approved by FDA because dosage not studied in this age range
- Reason 2: Risk of dosage error causing high blood pressure
- CAUTION: Never give 2 cough or cold medicines at the same time. (Reason: May share an ingredient and cause poisoning). Avoid multi-ingredient products in children under 6 years of age (AAP recommendations 10/2008)
- AVAILABILITY: Pseudoephedrine products are found behind the counter of pharmacies in response to legislation enacted in 2006. Ask a pharmacist for assistance in obtaining these medications.
- DOSAGE: Determine by finding child's weight in the top row of the dosage table.
- MEASURING the DOSAGE: Syringes and droppers are more accurate than teaspoons. If possible, use the syringe or dropper that comes with the medication. If not, medicine syringes are available at pharmacies. If you use a teaspoon, it should be a measuring spoon. Regular spoons are not reliable. Also, remember that 1 level teaspoon equals 5 ml and that ½ teaspoon equals 2.5 ml.
- FREQUENCY: Repeat every 6 hours as needed
- ADULT DOSAGE: 60 mg maximum

Notas:
- LIMITES DE EDAD: No lo use en niños menores de 4 años de edad.
- Razón 1: No es aprobado por el FDA porque la dósis no se ha estudiado en éste rango de edad.
- Razón 2: El riesgo de causar un error en la dosis que causa que suba la presión arterial.
- PRECAUCIÓN: Nunca de 2 médicamentos para lo tos o la gripa al mismo tiempo. (Razón: Pueden compartir un ingrediente y causar envenamiento). Evita productos con ingredientes múltiples en niños menores de 6 años de edad. (Razón: Recomendación por el AAP 10/2008).
- DISPONIBILIDAD: Productos con pseudoefedrina se encuentran atrás del tocador en las farmácias debido a una legislación efectivo a partir del 2006. Pidele asistencia al farmacista para obtener éstos medicamentos.
- DOSIS DE PSEUDOEFEDRINA: Se determina encontrando el peso de su niño(a) en la línea de arriba de la tabla de dosis.
- DOSIS DE ADULTO: 60 mg máximo
- FREQUENCIA: Repita cada 6 horas cuando sea necesario
- MEDIR la DOSIS: las jeringas y los goteros son más exactos que las cucharas pequeñas. Si es posible, utilice la jeringa o el gotero del medicamento. Si utiliza una cuchara pequeña debe ser una cuchara medidora. Las cucharas normales no son fiables. Además, recuerde que, 1 cuchara pequeña plana equivale a 5 ml y ½ de una cuchara pequeña equivale a 2.5 ml.
