Bone Marrow Failure Program

The Bone Marrow Failure Program, directed by Nicholas Gloude, M.D., treats patients with various inherited and acquired forms of bone marrow failure, including, but not limited to:

  • Aplastic Anemia
  • Congenital Amegkaryocytic Thrombocytopenia
  • Congenital Neutropenia
  • Diamond Blackfan Anemia
  • Dyskeratosis Congenita
  • Fanconi Anemia
  • Shwachman Diamond Syndrome
  • Myelodysplastic Syndrome
  • Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria

We are the only pediatric program in Southern California with providers who are dedicated to caring for pediatric patients with bone marrow failure. Our program comprises of an expert team of pediatric hematologists/oncologists and bone marrow transplant physicians who specialize in treating these conditions. Our team works closely with other pediatric subspecialists based on your child’s condition to provide comprehensive multi-disciplinary care and streamline transition to adult care.

Rady Children’s Hospital/ UC San Diego School of Medicine is a member of both the North American Pediatric Aplastic Anemia Consortium and the Clinical Care Consortium of Telomere-Associated Ailments.

As consortium members, our program can offer multicenter clinical trials to our patients and opportunities for expert consultations.
