The Radiology Department at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art imaging services. All of our radiologists are pediatric board-certified.
Our center is accredited by the American College of Radiology, recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging. These gold seals of accreditation demonstrate our commitment to safe and quality imaging in CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and ultrasound.
Your child’s safety is our primary concern. Our highly advanced equipment and methods are designed especially for children, enabling our radiologists and technologists to use the lowest possible radiation dose while providing the highest image quality. We follow the guidelines of Image Gently®.
Many of the innovative imaging methods we offer at our center are available at only a few pediatric hospitals in the nation:
- Our MRI-catheterization guided intervention center provides real-time magnetic resonance imaging technology, which benefits patients by producing clearer pictures and offering minimal or no harmful radiation exposure during a catheterization procedure.
- Our EOS orthopedic imaging system produces detailed images of the spine while using significantly less radiation than a standard X-ray.
- Our dual-source CT scanner enables new levels of image quality, clinical outcomes and ultimately precision medicine.
- Our kid-friendly MRI center enables children to watch a movie during the exam.
