Complex/Combined Malformation
Many vascular malformations are neither purely comprised of one blood vessel type nor the high-risk arteriovenous malformation.
Such malformations are considered complex, or combined, malformations. Found within these lesions is a mixture of any of the four vessel types: arterial, venous, capillary, and lymphatic.
As these malformations can grow to where they pose functional risks, they should be evaluated and monitored by physicians who specialize in treating them. Our multidisciplinary team has expertise in both assessing and treating these lesions, with treatments including sclerotherapy and embolization.
