Services

The Division offers the following services:

• Epilepsy services, including a New-Onset Seizure Clinic
• Movement Disorders Clinic
• Muscular Dystrophy Clinic
• Rett Syndrome Clinic
• Headache Clinic
• Cerebrovascular Clinic
• Metabolic/Mitochondrial Clinic

EEG/EMG services are provided through the Hospital to diagnose seizures and other disorders with a sudden onset of neurological change. EEG/EMG procedures include:

• Routine EEG
• Ambulatory EEG to monitor activity over a 24-hour period
• Video EEG monitoring to videotape patient's activity and behavior while recording the EEG
• Portable EEG for bedside monitoring
• Neonatal EEG
• Continuous bedside EEG monitoring
• Special EEG procedures such as sleep studies
• Ambulatory EEG scanning service provided to outside facilities
• Electromyography to study electrical activity in nerve and muscle to diagnose neuromuscular disorders
• Nerve conduction studies
• Repetitive nerve stimulation to investigate neuromuscular junction disorders

EEG services are available by appointment Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Qualified staff are on call to provide emergency procedures during off-hours, weekends and holidays. EEGs can be schedule by calling 858-966-5999.
