The Division of Ophthalmology of Rady Children’s Specialists of San Diego provides comprehensive eye care for infants, children and adolescents, as well as strabismus and double vision treatment for adults.

Our highly experienced team treats a wide range of ocular conditions in pediatric patients, including refractive errors, ocular misalignment (drifting of eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye), cataracts, and blocked tear ducts. Other areas of expertise include ocular plastics, neuro-ophthalmology and glaucoma.

Along with our ophthalmologists, we have a certified orthoptist and an optometrist. Our orthoptist is uniquely skilled to treat children and adults with eye-movement difficulties and children with amblyopia. Our optometrist offers comprehensive eye exams and contact-lens fittings for children and adults. She also treats a wide variety of diagnoses, including strabismus, amblyopia, refractive error, failed vision screenings, eye problems associated diabetes, and chalazions. 

We see patients at Rady Children’s main campus and at our satellite locations in Escondido, Encinitas, Murrieta and San Diego. For emergencies in children, our doctors are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The optical shop – located at Rady Children’s main campus and the Escondido satellite office – offers one of the largest selections of pediatric frames in the county. The opticians are experts at fitting both children and adult spectacles. Contact lens fittings are available by appointment.
