Ceremony Recognized Hospital Volunteers for Their Outstanding Work

WHAT: Rady Children’s recognized eight outstanding volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week during a luncheon at the Double Tree Hotel in Mission Valley on April 14th. Volunteers are vital to the success of Rady Children’s; in 2009-2010, 425 volunteers contributed more than 40,618 hours of service, which is equivalent to 20 full-time employees.The volunteers serve in a number of roles throughout the Hospital including assisting nurses with infant care, operating the activity rooms, working as patient companions, translators, surgery ambassadors and storytellers as well as part of the canine therapy program.
