San Diego, CA – Sept. 26, 2016 — Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego uses health information technology to improve the quality of healthcare delivery, increase patient safety, decrease medical errors, and strengthen the interaction between patients and families and their healthcare providers.

To mark the key role health information technology plays in improving healthcare delivery in America, Rady Children’s and others across the U.S. have joined together to celebrate National Health Information Technology (NHIT) Week, September 26-30, 2016.

With the NHIT Week theme: One Voice, One Vision: Transforming Health and Care, Rady Children’s Information Management Division will be celebrating its talented staff throughout the week, including the Division’s annual picnic on Wednesday, September 28 from 11:30 to 1:30 AM at Cabrillo Heights Neighbor Park.

“Our participation in National Health IT Week highlights our organization’s commitment to ensure our patients and professionals have access to integrated, interactive, interoperable, intelligent and intuitive health information technology that enables the best patient outcomes,” said Albert Oriol, Rady Children’s Chief Information Officer. “By working together we can leverage the technology to continuously improve  our fabulous healthcare system.”
