Dr. Angela Chu is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an assistant clinical professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

She earned her medical degree at UC Irvine School of Medicine and a Masters of Science in bioengineering at the Jacobs School of Engineering at UCSD. She completed her internship and residency in general pediatrics at UCI-Children?s Hospital of Orange County and her fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at UCSD-Rady?s. She is board certified in pediatrics and is board eligible in pediatric gastroenterology.

Dr. Chu performed research on liver inflammation using bioinformatics during fellowship and has a special interest in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and obesity in children. She also has special interests in biliary atresia and celiac disease. Currently, she is involved in quality improvement (QI) projects for both biliary atresia and celiac disease and plans to do many more QI projects in the future to continually help improve patient care.
