Dr. Dillon Chen is a child neurologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego with a clinical and research focus on neonatal neurology. He is also an assistant professor of neurosciences at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Chen grew up in Taiwan, South Africa and Southern California, and earned his undergraduate degree in neurosciences from UC Los Angeles. He attended Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City for his medical and graduate studies. His doctoral research work focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms of long-term memory formation. He completed his residency in pediatrics and child neurology at UC San Diego and Rady Children's. He is a member of the Child Neurology Society and American Academy of Neurology and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with special qualifications in child neurology.
Dr. Chen is currently a National Institute of Health K12 Research Scholar. He is studying glycans in the brain and hopes to understand how different glycans affect early brain development and response to injury.
