Maria Huang, M.D.

Bio

Dr. Maria Huang is a pediatric hospitalist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at UC San Diego in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. She is actively involved in clinical research and teaches medical students and pediatric residents from UC San Diego as well as family medicine residents from various visiting institutions.

She received her undergraduate degree in microbiology at the University of Washington. She started her medical training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She continued her training through a fellowship in pediatric hospital medicine at Rady Children's and UC San Diego.

Dr. Huang is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics - Section on Hospital Medicine, and the Academic Pediatric Association.

Her clinical and research interests include provider medical decision making, high value care, and the patient and family experience during hospitalization.
