Dr. Paul Parker is a pediatric hospitalist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an associate physician at UC San Diego in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
He received his undergraduate degree in biological science at the University of Southern California. He completed his medical training at UC Davis School of Medicine and then continued his pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles.
Dr. Parker is a member of the American Medical Informatics Association. He is actively involved with the education and mentorship of pediatric hospital medicine fellows and pediatric residents from UC San Diego and the Navy, in addition to UC San Diego medical students.
He has a special interest in electronic medical record interoperability and its impact on quality of care measures.
Dr. Parker served as the San Diego Chapter Facilitator for Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) of the American Academy of Pediatrics. As part of CATCH, he developed healthcare strategies for low-income children with special needs as the program director for the Special Kids Healthcare Consortium.
