Collection Instructions

Whole blood collected in an EDTA (royal blue-top), ACD Solution A/B (yellow-top) tube, sodium heparin (green-top), lithium heparin (green-top) is also acceptable. 2 mL Saliva in Oragene DNA self-collection kit is also acceptable. Indicate ethnicity of the patients.

Included Tests

General screen for carrier status & assessment of CF risk. This test will identify approx. 90% of Cystic Fibrosis mutations in the Caucasian population, and 97% in the Ashkenazi Jewish population.


Comments

Insurance authorization is required prior to draw for outpatients. Ok to send on inpatients. No special send out forms needed.
