Specimen Required

CSF - 0.3 ml minimum. Plasma (EDTA) 0.3 ml minimum is accepted from NEONATES LESS THAN 60 DAYS OLD and immunocompromised patients.

Collection Instructions

CSF - Collect in a sterile screw cap container.

Room Temp: 48 hrs; Refrigerated: 7 Days; Frozen: 1 Month (Do not freeze whole blood)

Processing Instructions

Place CSF in -70 freezer. Blood: Separate and transfer plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection and transfer to a screw-cap tube. freeze at -70. Do not use snap-cap tubes. Place plasma in a -70 freezer ASAP.
