Processing Instructions

Immediately refrigerate specimens after collection. Collect a control specimen from a normal (healthy), unrelated, nonsmoking person at the same time as the patient. Collect (one) 2-4 mL in an EDTA (lavender-top) tube, label clearly on outermost label NORMAL CONTROL and immediately refrigerate specimen after collection. Submit patient's whole blood specimen and Control specimen to Mayo within 72 hours of collection. Order in Mayolink and send with Mayo courier Monday-Friday.
