Collect blood spots only as an alternative for patients <1 year of age. Let blood dry on the filter papaer at room temp in a horizontal position for 3 hours. Do not expose specimen to heat or direct sunlight. Keep specimen dry. Collect Monday-Thursday ONLY. Include Mayo "Molecular Genetics-Biochemical Disorders Patient Information Sheet".
