Medical Psychiatry Clinic

The Medical Psychiatry Clinic is an outpatient extension of the Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation Liaison Inpatient Service. We provide psychiatric consultation, evaluation and treatment for children and their families dealing with acute and chronic medical conditions as well as psychiatric issues. These include:

  • Primary psychiatric issues leading to medical conditions
  • Psychiatric manifestations of medical diseases
  • Psychosomatic conditions
  • Adjustment to chronic disease
  • Medical trauma
  • Adjustment to organ transplantation

We are also able to follow patients who were seen by the Psychiatry Department during their inpatient medical hospitalization.

The clinic is staffed by Willough Jenkins, M.D., a child and adolescent psychiatrist. Referrals are currently accepted from Rady Children’s Rheumatology, Nephrology and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics programs, and they are submitted through EPIC Messaging. We are working to expand availability to all Rady Children’s specialties as well as programs in the community.
