Jeffrey Gold, M.D., Ph.D., is a child neurologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an associate clinical professor of neurosciences with board certifications in neurology (with a special qualification in child neurology), epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology.

Dr. Gold grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and earned his undergraduate degree in neurosciences from University of California Los Angeles. He attended UC San Diego for his medical and graduate studies. His doctoral thesis, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Larry Squire, was titled "The Functional Neuroanatomy of Human Declarative Memory." He completed his residency in child neurology and his fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at UC San Diego and Rady Children's.

Dr. Gold specializes in the treatment of children with epilepsy. He is the medical director of neonatal neurology at UC San Diego and Rady Children's. He is also the director of the Residency Program in Child Neurology, where he runs the journal club and the neuroanatomy educational course for the UC San Diego neurology residents. He is the director of the Mind Brain Behavior I and II courses for the first- and second-year medical students at UC San Diego School of Medicine and serves on a number of educational and department committees at UC San Diego and Rady Children's.
