Video (telemedicine) visits are an effective way for families to connect with a pediatric expert from the comfort and convenience of their home.

We know that traveling for a medical visit can be both time-consuming and stressful. With our video visits, the provider comes to you. All you need is access to a smart phone, tablet or computer with camera and Wi-Fi connection for you to see and talk with your child’s provider and for the provider to see and talk with you.

Video visits may be used for a full range of Rady Children’s services, including

You can rest assured that your child will receive similar high-quality care as with an in-person visit.

For primary care, it is important for your child to maintain their relationship with their pediatrician. Therefore, pediatricians may recommend in-person appointments. If you are interested in video visits with your child’s pediatrician, please reach out to their office for information on scheduling.

For a specialty clinic visit, the clinician will review your child’s symptoms, refill prescriptions, order new medications, answer questions, provide education/instructions and discuss treatment plans/next steps. Many parts of the physical examination can be accomplished using your smart device with guidance from your child’s provider. The provider will have full access to your child’s medical record at Rady Children’s and will be able to order laboratory tests, imaging studies and prescriptions as indicated.
