Care from the comfort of home
Video (telemedicine) visits are a convenient way for your family to connect with a Rady Children’s pediatric expert without leaving home. We know that traveling for an appointment can be time-consuming and stressful — with a video visit, the provider comes to you.
All you need is a smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera and a Wi-Fi connection so you and your child’s provider can see and talk with one another. You can feel confident your child will receive the same high-quality, compassionate care they would during an in-person visit.
Services available by video visit
Video visits are offered across a wide range of Rady Children’s services, including:
- Primary care
- Specialty care (provided by Rady Children’s Specialists of San Diego)
- Behavioral health
- Developmental services
Primary care visits
It’s important for your child to keep up their relationship with their pediatrician, so your pediatrician may recommend coming in for certain appointments. If you’d like a video visit with your child’s pediatrician, reach out to their office for scheduling information.
Specialty clinic visits
During a specialty video visit, the clinician can review your child’s symptoms, refill or order medications, answer your questions, provide instructions and discuss next steps. Many parts of a physical exam can be done using your smart device with guidance from the provider. Because they have full access to your child’s Rady Children’s medical record, they can also order lab tests, imaging studies and prescriptions as needed.
