Dr. Jennifer Elster is a hematologist/oncologist and director of the Pediatric Proton Therapy Program at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She primarily works with the Solid Tumor and Neuro-Oncology programs on both the inpatient unit and outpatient clinic.

Dr. Elster earned a Bachelor of Science in 2001 from the University of California, Irvine, graduating magna cum laude. She received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2005 and completed her residency in pediatrics at UPMC at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2008. Following her residency, Dr. Elster worked as a pediatric hospitalist at UPMC Mercy Hospital for one year. She then completed her fellowship in hematology/oncology at UPMC at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2012 and stayed on as an instructor at the hospital from 2012-2013. Subsequently, she joined the University of Louisville as an assistant professor of pediatrics in hematology/oncology, where she became the co-director of the pediatric neuro-oncology program.
