Laura Bauman, M.D.

Bio

Dr. Laura Bauman is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Rady Children's Hospital and an associate physician at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

Dr. Bauman's primary clinical and research focus is in inflammatory bowel disease. She received specific training in IBD during her fellowship at the Schubert Martin IBD center under the mentorship of Dr. Lee Denson. She also sees pediatric patients with all gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreatic and nutritional disorders.

A San Diego native, Dr. Bauman received her medical training at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth before completing her pediatric residency at the University of Utah and her pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She earned a Master of Science in clinical and translational research at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Bauman won the Arnold W. Strauss Award for excellence in research in 2017 and was given a Golden Apple Teaching Award in 2013.
