Lauren Kearney, M.D.

Bio

Dr. Laurie Kearney is a board-certified pediatrician. She works in the Emergency Medicine Division at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego, primarily in the Oceanside and Escondido urgent care centers.

Dr. Kearney graduated cum laude from medical school at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center (now New York Presbyterian Hospital, East Campus). She worked there as an attending physician and an instructor of pediatrics before moving to San Diego in 1997.

After moving to San Diego she joined North County Health Services, a nonprofit community clinic. She worked in pediatric primary care at the Ramona, Encinitas and San Marcos locations until 2011. She and Dr. Maria Sebiane established an asthma management program at the San Marcos health center. Dr. Kearney was also the site coordinator for the Reach Out and Read Program.

Dr. Kearney joined Rady Children's Hospital as an attending physician when the Oceanside urgent care center opened in 2011. Her primary clinical interests include management of asthma and related atopic conditions, prevention and treatment of sports injuries and bicycle safety.

Dr. Kearney resides with her husband in Carlsbad, where they both enjoy running, bicycling and triathlon.
