Bobby S. Korn, MD, PhD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic surgery. He operates a robust referral practice that attracts patients nationally and internationally and is among the highest-volume oculoplastic surgeons in the region, performing over 600 surgical cases annually. In pediatric oculoplastics, Dr. Korn focuses on congenital ptosis repair, emphasizing the frontalis muscle flap, endoscopic tear duct surgery, congenital eyelid malpositions, and orbital neoplasms. He has been recognized as a Top Physician by the San Diego Medical Society annually since 2012 and has been listed among the Best Doctors in America since 2015.
Dr. Korn is an avid educator at local, national, and international levels. He directs a fellowship program accredited by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and has mentored leaders in the United Kingdom, Canada, Korea, China, Thailand, and Lebanon. He has received multiple teaching awards at both university and national levels from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Korn is an active researcher with over 200 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. He serves as Chief Editor of the best-selling Video Atlas of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, currently in preparation for its third edition. He is a prolific speaker, having delivered over 170 lectures worldwide. He also chairs the AAO Basic and Clinical Sciences Series for Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Korn volunteers as a surgeon at local (Fresh Start Program), national, and international levels. He has lectured and performed live surgery in multiple countries, including the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Korea, Brazil, and the United Arab Emirates.
