Bio

Dr. Brittany Passiak is a pediatric neurologist and neuromuscular specialist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. She is an assistant clinical professor of neurosciences at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

Dr. Passiak received both her undergraduate degree and medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She completed her residency training in Child Neurology at the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital / Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and her fellowship in adult and pediatric neuromuscular medicine at Primary Children's Hospital / University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT.

Dr. Passiak's clinical practice encompasses the full breadth of pediatric neurology, with a special interest in hereditary and acquired neuromuscular disorders. This includes myopathies, muscular dystrophies, spinal muscular atrophy, neuropathies (Charcot-Marie-Tooth, AIDP/Guillain-Barré syndrome, CIDP, traumatic nerve injuries), neuromuscular junction disorders such as juvenile myasthenia gravis, and hereditary ataxias. She also performs nerve conduction testing/electromyography (NCS/EMG) studies, including single-fiber EMG. She is passionate about improving the care of her patients through comprehensive patient education, and understanding the relationship between medical treatments, psychosocial factors, and quality of life.

She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with special qualifications in Child Neurology, and is a member of the Child Neurology Society and American Academy of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
