Pediatrics
Dr. David Katibian is a Pediatric Gastroenterologist at Rady Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. He is board certified in Pediatrics.
Dr. Katibian cares for pediatric patients with a variety of gastrointestinal, hepatic and nutritional disorders. With a focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Dr. Katibian’s clinical and research interests include diagnosing and treating patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. He is passionate about the role of dietary therapies in IBD and completed an Advanced Dietary IBD Education and Training Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Katibian has since developed an integrated IBD nutritional therapy program at Rady Children’s for patients interested in diet as either monotherapy or as adjunct to conventional medical therapies. This multi-disciplinary clinic involves close collaboration with an IBD-focused dietician who specializes in educating patients and families on diets including the Crohn’s Disease Exclusion Diet (CDED) and Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD).
Dr. Katibian completed both his pediatric residency and pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at UC San Diego/Rady Children’s Hospital. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring new hikes, traveling to different countries and cooking homemade recipes with his wife.
