Dr. Deborah Schiff is an attending pediatric hematologist/oncologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and a clinical professor of pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is also medical director of the Hem/Oncology Palliative Care Program.

Dr. Schiff is board certified in both pediatric hematology/oncology and hospice & palliative medicine.

After receiving her medical degree from Brown Medical School, she completed her residency in pediatrics at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown Medical School, followed by a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Children's Hospital, Los Angeles.

Her clinical research primarily involves cancer clinical trials, outcomes in palliative medicine, and ethnic disparities in oncology. Dr. Schiff is an active member of Children's Oncology Group (COG) and has been principal investigator on numerous clinical trials. She has served as physician liaison for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital/Rady Children's Alliance since 2007. Additionally, Dr. Schiff is an active member of the Rady Children's Stem Cell Transplant team.

Dr. Schiff has mentored many trainees, including UC San Diego medical students, residents and fellows, many of whom have presented their work at national meetings and published their findings in peer-reviewed journals.
