Bio

James Geller, M.D., is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at Rady Children’s Hospital–San Diego and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California San Diego. He specializes in the care of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with solid tumors, including renal tumors, liver tumors, and retinoblastoma, with a focus on developing novel therapies through translational and early-phase clinical trials.

Dr. Geller completed his pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and previously spent more than 20 years at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where he served as Professor of Pediatrics and held numerous leadership roles directing multidisciplinary clinical and research programs. His work has included leading national registries, developing innovative treatment approaches, and advancing team-based translational research.

Nationally and internationally, Dr. Geller has held leadership roles within the Children’s Oncology Group and the International Society of Paediatric Oncology, contributing to clinical trial development, guideline creation, and collaborative research efforts. He is also an Associate Editor for Pediatric Blood & Cancer and remains committed to mentorship and improving outcomes for children with cancer worldwide.
