Dr. James Nelson is a neurologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an assistant clinical professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Nelson earned a bachelor's degree at Southern Illinois University and his medical degree from University of Illinois. He completed his pediatrics residency at University of Illinois before serving as a general pediatrician for four years In Springfield, Ill. He then continued pursuing his medical education, becoming a child neurology fellow at St Louis University.
Dr. Nelson joined Rady Children's as a physician in 2016. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology.
Dr. Nelson practices as a general child neurologist, providing care for a variety of neurological disorders. He has a special interest in headache issues and developmental disorders.
