Bio

Dr. Jeffrey Algra is a rehabilitation medicine specialist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an assistant clinical professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

Dr. Algra is thrilled to bring his experience to Rady Children's. Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, he brings a breadth of knowledge to all his patients and loves the continuity of care he is able to provide to their families. He is trained in a wide range of spasticity management, including botulinum toxin and phenol injections, intra-thecal baclofen pump management and rehabilitation after selective dorsal rhizotomy.

Dr. Algra earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and a master's degree in medical biology in The Netherlands, where he was born and raised. He earned his medical degree from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam before relocating to the United States to complete two years of post-graduate training in general surgery at the University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles and Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn. He completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York City and a pediatric rehabilitation medicine fellowship at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in Saint Paul, Minn.
