Jennifer Yu, M.D.

Bio

Dr. Jennifer Yu is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an associate clinical professor in pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

She graduated from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey and completed both her pediatric residency and pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at UC San Diego. In addition to teaching medical students, residents and fellows on the wards and in the clinic, Dr. Yu is the co-program director for the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program. She also directs the pediatric hematology/oncology resident rotation and medical student clerkship.

Dr. Yu's clinical interests are focused on pediatric hematology, including hemoglobinopathies such as thalassemia and sickle cell disease, bone marrow failure, histiocytic disorders and clotting disorders. She is the medical director for the Thalassemia Program. She is also involved in multiple hematology clinical trials.

In her free time, Dr. Yu enjoys spending time with her family in sunny San Diego.
