Dr. Laurie Bernard Stover is the medical director of inpatient services and the clinical director of the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Division of Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego, as well as a clinical professor of pediatrics at UC San Diego in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.

She received her undergraduate degree in Biology at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, and completed her medical training at University of Texas, Houston. She then completed her pediatric residency at UC San Diego and fellowships in pediatric dermatology and outcomes research at Rady Children's/UC San Diego.

Dr. Bernard Stover is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Society of Hospital Medicine. She is actively involved with the education and mentorship of pediatric hospital medicine fellows and pediatric residents from UC San Diego and the Navy, in addition to UC San Diego medical students.

She has a special interest in optimizing the care of complex hospitalized patients, hospital clinical operations and medical student and resident education.

Dr. Bernard Stover was recently invited to join the newly formed UC San Diego Pediatrics Master Clinician program. She has participated in numerous clinical trials and has published many case reports and book chapters related to her clinical work.
