Dr. Mateja Cernelc-Kohan is an attending physician in the Respiratory Medicine Division of Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego.
A native of Slovenia, she attended medical school and completed a pediatric residency at University of Ljubljana and University Children's Hospital Ljubljana. After spending a year as a research fellow at University of Bern in the Pediatric Respiratory Medicine Division, she completed a pediatric residency at University of Hawaii. She continued her education in respiratory medicine with a pediatric pulmonary fellowship at UC San Diego.
Dr. Cernelc-Kohan's clinical interests include BPD, asthma and primary ciliary dyskinesia. Her research focuses on extracellular vesicles in lung fibrosis.
