Dr. Matthew Zapala is a pediatric radiologist with San Diego Imaging Medical Group.
Dr. Zapala received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, then went on to earn both his medical degree and Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He completed a transitional internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital and his diagnostic radiology residency at UCSD, followed by fellowship training at Boston Children's Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Zapala is board certified by the American Board of Radiology with added qualifications in Pediatrics. Prior to joining San Diego Imaging in 2024, he served as an associate professor of Radiology in the Pediatric Radiology section at UCSF from 2015 to 2024.
