Dr. Preeti Bansal is the Section Chief of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Rady Children's Hospital.
She earned her medical degree from the University of Kentucky and completed her residency at the same institution, where she was awarded the Tschafter Resident Teaching Award and served as chief resident. Dr. Bansal completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Duke University.
She has been with Rady Children's Specialists of San Diego since 2005. During her tenure, Dr. Bansal developed the Retinopathy of Prematurity Screening and Treatment Program. As Director of this program, she and her team serve 13 neonatal units, from Chula Vista in the south to Oceanside in the north and Rancho Springs in Riverside County. Dr. Bansal specializes in retinopathy of prematurity and pediatric cataracts.
She lives with her husband and two children in San Diego County.
