Bio

Raeda Taj, MD, is a board-certified surgeon specializing in kidney and liver transplantation in adult and pediatric patients.

Dr. Taj is an assistant professor in the Division of Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where she teaches and mentors residents and medical students. Her interests include expanding access to transplantation, addressing cultural and global disparities in organ donation, and advancing transplant education.

Dr. Taj completed fellowship training in abdominal transplant surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, completed her general surgery residency at UC San Diego, and earned her medical degree from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

She is a member of the International Liver Transplantation Society Education & Scholarship Committee, the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American Society of Transplantation, the American College of Surgeons, and the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association.
