Dr. Ranjan Dohil is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and a professor of clinical pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Dohil earned his medical degree at the University of Wales College of Medicine and continued his pediatric gastroenterology training at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
Dr. Dohil is very active in patient care and clinical research. He is the attending gastroenterologist at the Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders Clinic at Rady Children's and is involved in research studies to better understand the natural history and treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis, including developing an eosinophilic disorders database.
Dr. Dohil's other clinical interests are inflammatory bowel disease and acid-peptic disease. He also has ongoing research in cystinosis. In particular, he is interested in understanding the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, biodistribution and other potential uses of cysteamine. He is involved in clinical trials that are looking at alternative indications for this drug.
