Bio

Shannon Leung, MD, MPH, is board-certified pediatrician who provides primary care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults up to age 21.

Dr. Leung's research interests include care transition for adolescents from pediatrics to adult medicine and improving communication between health providers, patients and caregivers.

As a pediatrician at an academic medical center, she also instructs medical students and residents. She has won awards recognizing her clinical and teaching excellence, including the Pediatric Primary Care Award from the New England Quality Care Alliance.

Dr. Leung a fellowship in general pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C., where she also earned her master's degree in public health. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Leung earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the Academic Pediatric Association and the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics.

In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking and exploring San Diego.
