Shilpa Vellore Govardhan, M.D.

Bio

Dr. Vellore Govardhan is a pediatric cardiologist at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and an associate physician at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

She attended medical school at Bangalore Medical College in India, completed her pediatric residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and went on to complete a critical care fellowship at Washington University in St Louis. Subsequently, she completed an advanced fellowship in cardiac critical care at Stanford.

Prior to coming to Rady Children's, Dr. Vellore Govardhan was a cardiac intensivist at Phoenix Children's Hospital for seven years, where she served as director of the Advanced Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship Program and associate director of the Pediatric Critical Care Program.

She enjoys spending time with her family, running, reading, poetry, ikebana and cooking.
