Collection Instructions

1-2 mL Blood collected in a (red-top) for serum or an EDTA (lavender-top) tube for Whole Blood or Plasma; 0.6-1 mL CSF, sputum, urine, bronchial, nasopharyngeal, or tracheal lavage/wash collected in a sterile plastic leak-proof container; 3 cubic mm tissue collected in a sterile plastic leak-proof container; or Eye swab (conjunctival) in a VCM (green-cap) container or equivalent are also acceptable. For plasma, refer to in-house test Adenovirus DNA, Qualitative PCR (Plasma) (LAB011739) or Adenovirus PCR, Qualitative Reflex to Quantitative PCR (Plasma) (LAB001775).
